Back in June, our very own Tom Tidyman won the Rising Star Award at the 2016 WSAE Annual Convention in Spokane. This award recognizes an emerging association leader in Washington, and we were thrilled to learn Tom was the recipient!
Tom joined SBI two years ago after being involved with the Florida Recreation and Parks Association and the Washington Oral Health Foundation. From day one with SBI Tom has provided impressive leadership, wise counsel, as well as expert financial and operational management for all of the people and organizations he manages. In just one year he successfully brought struggling associations into alignment, by growing membership and keeping board members and volunteers engaged and committed to their associations. After two of our association clients merged, he served as the new organization’s first Executive Director, spearheading a collaborative process to bring their operations and cultures together, an undertaking that no one else at SBI has ever done. He is to be applauded for having the patience, tenacity, and skill to manage a team of eight staff serving 14 associations.
The entire SBI team looks to Tom for his outstanding leadership and advice on all matters and we would not have had the success and growth we have seen over the past couple years without his assistance. Tom truly is a rising star and an admirable boss, colleague, and friend.
