Patty Anderson, CAE, IOM

Past

A native Washingtonian, Patty graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a bachelor’s degree in politics and government. After graduating, she immediately jumped into association management working for the Building Industry Association of Tacoma/Pierce County, followed by the Energy Business Association. After working on the 1990 Goodwill Games held in Seattle, Washington, Patty got her toes wet working for an association management company that later became known as Melby, Cameron & Anderson (MCA) when she joined the company as a partner in 1996. In addition to earning the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential, she is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organization Management (IOM). Patty has also had the pleasure of serving eight years as the Executive Director for the Washington Society of Association Executives (WSAE).

Present

Patty joined SBI Association Management in 2016 when SBI acquired MCA. With more than 30 years of association management experience and leader of one of SBI’s three client service teams, Patty provides a senior level of knowledge in strategic, leadership, and event management to the seven clients she serves in her role as Executive Director or Chapter Administrator.

Future

The common thread throughout Patty’s career has been not only serving but helping the associations she works with grow and thrive. She is passionate about inspiring her SBI colleagues to deliver exceptional service and value to their clients.

A Little Something Extra

Patty spends her much of her free time caring for and showing her champion Borzoi (Russian Wolfhound dogs) – many of which she has bred, as well as exploring Washington’s wine country with family and friends.
